Charities

The Parishes of St.Michael's and St.Wendrona's spend a lot of time raising money not only for the upkeep of the Churches but also for different Charities from all over the world

As well as raising money for charities we also collect unwanted items such as bedding, clothes, toys, toiletries, workshop tools and household items (sadly not furniture).

During  2017 a number of fund raising events took place including Lent & Advent lunches for the Kimbilio charity which is for children in the Congo. A successful Coffee Morning in the autumn divided it’s profits between the RNLI and the Wendron Church Roof Fund  and a number of Church people are involved with the Moldova Charity and the Woman’s (& men’s) Refuges.

Our Helston and Wendron Charity Knitting Group who gather together monthly are always happy to see new faces and accept donations of the knitted kind which are then sent to places such as the premature baby unit at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Shelterbox, Mothers Union etc. The ladies have also produced items for the residential homes and the Community Hospitals and for the 'fish and Chip' babies in Africa. If you would like to find out more or to join them please contact Enid 01326563358 or Sue 01326561389.
